    Description

    Beautiful and lustrous heraldic eagle bust dollar. Very strong luster throughout with good detail to match. The die for this marriage had pits in the metal around the date; when coins were struck metal filled the pits creating raised metal, thus the dotted date. Due to the location of the raised medal bumps this die state became very popular and earned a spot in the redbook set. Pop 1 with six finer.
